DUCTLESS SPLIT SYSTEMS
SPLIT SYSTEM AIR CONDITIONERS ARE A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING.
If you don’t want to alter the structure of a historical home, or you don’t want to invest in upgrading your ductwork, ductless — or split system — air conditioning may be your ticket.
Split system air conditioners are pretty easy to install, especially compared to central air.
We will need to create holes in the wall in each room you’d like it installed in, but only to hook up the conduits to the compressor unit. These holes are not as big as the holes needed to install new ductwork for central air conditioning.
MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS
Our trained team members can provide your split AC system with efficient annual maintenance and timely service on any repairs that it needs.
DIY Tip: Split systems require regular home maintenance — when using them on a daily basis, wash each individual unit’s filter monthly. You’ll get a lot more life out of your system and it will need fewer repairs if you do a good job of keeping the filters clean.
THE BENEFITS OF SPLIT SYSTEMS
Most older desert homes were built with swamp coolers, not central air. If this is your home, installing a split system might be easier and more affordable than making the switch to central air. Split systems are also great to consider if you’re planning a new addition to your home, or want to add cooling to your garage or workshop.
With a central air system, the temperatures you’ll find in each room aren’t always the same. A ductless system allows you to customize the temperature in each room — that means no more fighting over the thermostat.
Split system air conditioners tend to be more energy efficient, since they don’t require ducts (where a lot of air leakage occurs). You can also choose which rooms of your house you want to keep cool, since they all work independently of one another.
